Owner, Matthew Mitchell
I earned my Bachelor's degree in Industrial design in 2003 from Philadelphia University. Upon entering a job market that had hit a historic low, I moved to Seattle with hopes of finding a design career. I needed to make ends meet, so I decided to expand my job search to my second passion: cars. I took an entry-level job doing automotive upholstery in downtown Seattle. After much dedication, I was promoted to shop manager - designing and installing custom interiors and convertible tops for high-end vehicles around Puget Sound.
A friend of mine, the manager for another Sir Grout needed some help. I was in luck: he gave me the opportunity to spend six months as a technician for Sir Grout. After learning the process from start to finish, and discovering how happy the customers were with long-lasting results, I purchased a franchise closer to my area. I opened Sir Grout of Greater Chester County in September of 2011. I was very familiar with the process, and I jumped out with a great start, earning Sir Grout "Man of the Year" in 2012.
My business continues to grow without sacrificing customer service. Unlike most other franchises, I choose to keep my franchise small- just me! I feel it is important for customers to see a familiar face from start-to-end. They can trust that I will do everything they ask with impeccable attention to detail. My customer service is based on honesty and respect; I treat my customers how I would want to be treated at home. Most importantly, I take the time to educate customers. In my spare time I love playing golf, relaxing with friends, and doing home renovations.
